1. Who controls your data
AcoustaPLOT Ltd (company number 17389299, registered office 81 Howarth Road, Wimborne, Dorset, BH21 2FG) is the data controller for information collected through acoustaplot.com.
2. What we collect
Room data: the dimensions and surface materials you enter to run a check or generate a report. Order data: your email address and order reference, so we can send you your report and answer questions about it. Payment data: none of it — payment is handled entirely by our merchant of record, who takes your card details directly; we never see or store them. Contact data: anything you send us through the contact page or by email.
3. What we don't collect
We don't run third-party analytics or advertising trackers on this site as of this policy's last update. If that changes, this page will say so, and you'll see a cookie notice reflecting it.
4. Why we collect it, and the legal basis
Room and order data: to perform the contract when you buy a check or report (necessary for performance of a contract). Contact data: to respond to you (legitimate interest in providing support). We don't use your data to build a profile of you for advertising, and we don't sell it.
5. Who we share it with
Our merchant of record (to process payment and handle tax), our hosting provider (to run the site and store report data), our email delivery provider (to send your order confirmation and cancellation-rights notice — your email address and the content of that email pass through it), and — once it's live, not yet — the provider behind the contact assistant, for questions you choose to ask it. No one else, and never for their own marketing purposes.
6. Where your data is processed
Our hosting infrastructure and our email delivery provider may each process data outside the UK/EEA. Where they do, this is covered by appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum) required under UK/EU data protection law.
7. How long we keep it
Orders: six years. When you buy something we keep a record of it — the room you bought a report for, your order reference, your email, and the cancellation confirmation we are required by law to send you. We keep that for six years, which is roughly how long someone could bring a claim about a contract, and it is also what lets you come back and re-download your report from the link in your confirmation email. We keep it because we have to (a legal obligation) and because you would want us to.
Your Studio account and saved projects: for as long as your account is active. If you have Echo Studio, your account record and the projects and rooms you save in it stay yours to come back to for as long as the account exists — cancelling a subscription does not delete them, so re-subscribing later picks up where you left off. If you want the account itself deleted, ask us (see "Your rights" below) and we will remove it, other than anything we are separately required to keep as part of an order record above.
The free check: not stored at all. If you run the free check and don't buy, the dimensions and materials you entered are used to work out your figures and are not written to any database.
We are not building a library of your projects to sell or mine, and we don't keep anything indefinitely for its own sake.
8. Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, and you can object to how we use it, by emailing support@acoustaplot.com. If you're not satisfied with our response, you have the right to complain to your local data protection authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
9. Changes to this policy
We'll update this page when what we actually do changes, and update the date at the top when we do.
