Predict it. Then watch the room prove you right, or wrong.
Eight short exercises on what a change to a room does to the way it sounds. Choose what you think will happen, then see it play out in 3D, with the reason written plainly underneath. The first two are free to play right here.

Room size: a cut-away 3D model of a room. Ceiling raised. The before view is showing. This is an illustration, not a calculation.
Exercise 1 of 8 · Room size
A bare meeting room has hard walls and a plasterboard ceiling. The ceiling is raised and everything else stays the same.
Does the room sound more echoey, less echoey, or about the same?
The results file is included with Echo Studio and Echo Pro.
What you get
Make your call first
Every exercise asks what you think will happen before the room answers, so the answer sticks.
Watch the room change
Carpet goes down, a curtain is hung, the ceiling rises, and you see the echo shorten or linger in a 3D room you can turn around.
The reason in plain words
Each result comes with a short, jargon-free explanation you can repeat to a colleague or a class.
Results to keep
Download your answers as a simple file to share with a trainer or tutor.

Honest limits
These exercises teach direction and reasoning. They do not calculate figures for a real room, and completing them is not an accredited qualification. The 3D room, the echo lines and the clarity bars are illustrations to show the idea; the lengths shown are not measurements. Figures in Echo's other tools are an indicative design guide only.
